Belleville, Nutley School Boards 2019 Election Results (UPDATED)

Belleville and Nutley residents head to the polls on Tuesday. Nov. 5 to vote in the 2019 general election. See local results here.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Belleville and Nutley residents headed to the polls for the 2019 general election on Tuesday, Nov. 5. In addition to statehouse races and a county freeholder seat, voters chose representatives on their local boards of education.

BELLEVILLE SCHOOL BOARD

In Belleville, voters chose among seven candidates for three open seats on the board of education in the Belleville Public School District.

With 26 of 26 districts reported, pending official certification, it appears Gabrielle Bennett-Meany, Luis Muniz and Ralph Tunis have emerged victorious.

According to the Essex County Clerk’s Office, the unofficial results are:

  • Gabrielle Bennett-Meany - 1,523 (20.71%)
  • Gynise Gotto - 779 (10.59%)
  • Thomas Grolimond - 742 (10.09%)
  • Raymond Kuebler - 830 (11.29%)
  • Carlos Marzan - 618 (8.4%)
  • Luis Muniz - 1,564 (21.27%)
  • Ralph Tunis - 1,292 (17.57%)

Three current members of the board have terms due to expire in 2020: Grolimond, Gotto and Liza Lopez.

NUTLEY SCHOOL BOARD

In Nutley, voters chose among six candidates for three open seats on the board of education in the Nutley Public School District.

With 20 of 20 districts reported, it appears - pending official certification - that Daniel Carnicella, Frank DeMaio and Charles Kucinski have emerged victorious.

According to the Essex County Clerk’s Office, the unofficial results are:

  • Daniel Carnicella - 2,313 (19.11%)
  • Ralph Chimento - 1,436 (11.86%)
  • Vito D'Alessio - 1,344 (11.1%)
  • Frank DeMaio - 2,921 (24.13%)
  • Charles Kucinski - 2,571 (21.24%)
  • Dominick Ritacco - 1,493 (12.33%)
