Thank you Father for fathers.

A day to thank, honor and bless all men who have answered the call of true fatherhood.

This past Father’s Day across American pulpits many heard messages about the decadence of parental involvement in the lives of children, especially by fathers. Statistics do confirm that the percent of dead beat dads is increasing at an alarming rate, yet Father’s Day for me is not a day to emphasize this. On the other hand, it is an opportunity to do what is not done often enough. It is a time to commend and honor those who have taken fatherhood to heart. I thank and encourage every man who has endured the pressures and demands of being a father in the 21st century. Times have changed, but God’s call to fathers has not. It still remains a call to be a protective, responsible, faithful and loving man who influences the lives of his children mainly by example, a call that transcends time and space.

I thank our heavenly Father for all the men who have answered that call. I pray that God would continue to grant them strength, wisdom, patience and grace to be men who rise above the stereotypes and statistics and be true husbands, fathers and friends. To those who have no memory or rather not have one of a man they can call father remember that you can always have a real Father in God. Trust Him, seek Him and talk to Him. He is a Father to the fatherless and will be there for you no matter what. If you need prayer or spiritual counseling do not hesitate to drop me a note. Pastorjoe777@hotmail.com
