A. The pet grooming business can be hard; you have some dogs that behave, and some that do not. Angie does groom cats as well as dogs. The business is also sometimes hard because it’s a very weather specific business. If it is horrible weather the last thing that people think about at that time is getting their dog groomed. Also the dogs get a lot dirtier after bad weather which requires more time and effort. It’s a very physically and mentally straining business but we wouldn’t be happy doing anything else.
Q. Why did you open in Belleville?
A. I opened up in Belleville because I used to work for another grooming shop in town before I opened my own shop. I had an established clientele and it is great location from my home where I also offer dog boarding. It was a great decision in my eyes to open in Belleville, the community is great and we seem to be attracting a lot of attention.
Q. Where do your customers come from, in addition to Belleville?
A. We get customers from close by towns and also some from further away. We get a lot of customers from the surrounding areas including Newark and Nutley. We get some customers as well from a further distance that I know and that they really enjoy the way I take care of their dogs.
Q. What should people know, in general, prior to bringing their pet to be groomed?
A. The one nice thing about this business is that there aren’t too many needs before the dog comes in. As long as they are healthy then we will happily groom them, with all the experience we can offer here there’s really almost no situation a dog could present us with that we can’t handle.
Q. Why should pets be groomed at Denise's Doggy Style’z? What make you different than other groomers?
A. We have just over 50 years combined experience; we are also a small local town shop and specialize in the satisfaction of our customers and their favorite companions. We do not beat or abuse dogs if they misbehave because there are other more appropriate ways to handle it. We are very loving to both the dogs and the owners and will go the extra mile to make sure you and your dog are happy.
Q. Anything else you'd like to add? Any special deals?
A. I also offer dog boarding for those times when you just need a break or vacation. This is done out of my house so the dogs are surrounded in a love filled home and not left in some cage in a random building. They get the love and attention they deserve and the owners get the peace of mind they deserve knowing their dog is safe and happy. We also offer specials for the grooming shop that vary from week to week so give us a call and let us help you and your best friend.
