Car Crimes In Nutley: Stolen Vehicle, Catalytic Converters, Arrest
Several vehicle-related crimes were recently reported in Nutley, including a stolen car, a burglary and catalytic converter thefts.
NUTLEY, NJ — Several vehicle-related crimes were reported in Nutley last week, including a stolen car, a burglary and catalytic converter thefts, authorities announced Wednesday.
The Nutley Police Department released the following information about each incident.
Nov. 24 (Chestnut Street) – Officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft. The victim stated they parked their vehicle – a grey, four-door 2021 BMW – on the street and when they came out a short time later, they saw that their vehicle was missing. They believe the keys were left in the vehicle.

Nov. 27 (Vreeland Avenue) – A vehicle owner went to police headquarters to report a past theft from vehicle. They stated they had parked their vehicle on the street and when they got home, they noticed that multiple items were missing. The approximate value of the items was $1,374.
Nov. 29 (Walnut Street) – Police responded to Walnut Street after receiving reports about multiple catalytic converter thefts. It appears the catalytic converters were cut from the underside of two parked vehicles during the day.

In addition, Nutley detectives have charged two juveniles in connection to October thefts that occurred on Kenzel Avenue, authorities reported Wednesday.
According to police, here’s what happened:
“Nutley detectives responded to multiple locations after residents reported that [suspects] tried gaining entry into their vehicles. The actors fled into Bloomfield and stole a vehicle from their jurisdiction. Nutley [police], working closely with Bloomfield [police], identified two actors, who were positively identified as the same two [suspects].”
