Confederate Flag In Nutley Stolen, Police Say

The Confederate flag had attracted all sorts of negative attention since she put it up, a Nutley homeowner said.

A confederate flag – proudly displayed by a Nutley resident – has been stolen, police reported.

Last week, NorthJersey.com posted a story about Nutley resident Tracy Sadura, who said that ever since she first hung a large Confederate flag outside her Vreeland Avenue home, she’s been plagued by Peeping Toms and photographers at all hours of the day.

Sadura told NorthJersey.com that she and her husband purchased the flag on a recent trip to Virginia after visiting Civil War sites.

“The issue with this country today [is] everything revolves around racism,” Sadura stated. “That’s not who I am… I want people to mind their own damn business and to stay away from my house.”

But apparently, that wasn’t how things worked out.

On Sept. 16, Sadura contacted officers to report that her flag – and the pole it hung on – had been stolen, police reported.

There are no known suspects, police stated.
