Essex County Church Partly Collapses, NJ Transit Reroutes Buses: Police
NJ Transit officials rerouted multiple buses after chunks of rock were spotted falling from the top of the church, police said.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Authorities closed off a section of street and NJ Transit officials rerouted multiple buses after several large chunks of rock fell off the top of an Essex County church on Tuesday.
Authorities said that Newark police received calls about large pieces of rock falling from the top of Mount Calvary Independent Church on Holland Street around 2 p.m. Firefighters and police arrived on the scene soon afterwards and roped off the area.
Nobody suffered injury as a result of the falling debris, the Newark Public Safety Department stated.

“NJ Transit buses will be rerouting buses as the engineering department assesses the structure and sanitation removes debris which may pose a hazard,” police stated in a news release on Tuesday afternoon.
