Essex County Double Shooting Leaves Man Dead, Woman Injured
Police found a man and a woman suffering from gunshots in a car in Newark.

Authorities are investigating a double shooting that left one person dead and another injured in Newark on Tuesday night.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, first responders found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds in a car near Elizabeth Avenue and Hunter Street around 11 p.m.
Jamal McBride, 25, of Newark, was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:25 p.m., prosecutors said.

A second victim, a female, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to University Hospital where she remains in stable condition, prosecutors stated.
The female’s name is not being released, authorities stated.
