Free Virtual Session Available for Parents and Caregivers

to Support Mental Health and Back-to-School Anxiety in Children

Belleville, NJ - Clara Maass Medical Center, a facility of RWJBarnabas Health is offering a virtual session for parents, caregivers and families on September 1, 2020 at 6:00 PM to manage and support school-aged children experiencing back-to-school anxiety.


The session, which is free and open to the public, will be facilitated by Neysa Etienne, LAMFT, a Child Specialist at the Psychiatric Emergency Screening Service at Clara Maass Medical Center.

• Valuable information to identify signs of stress and anxiety in children

• Guidance on protecting children’s mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic

• Coping strategies for children to manage the emotions experienced from lack of social interaction, inactivity and fluctuating routines

• Direction on identifying those behaviors and signs which warrant professional assistance

• Examples of appropriate actions which create a supportive and stable environment in uncertain times

• Important self-care tips for parents and caregivers
