NUTLEY, NJ — During Steve Rogers’ tenure as a township commissioner in Nutley, two items found a home in his office: a picture of George Washington and a Bible. Their purpose? To remind him who he was ultimately accountable to as he served his township.

Earlier this week, Rogers released a farewell video marking the end of his time as a Nutley Township commissioner.

“We did our part to keep this small piece of America in Nutley, New Jersey the wonderful place it is,” Rogers said. (Watch the video below)

Rogers announced that he wasn’t going to run for a third term as commissioner in 2018, so that he could spend more time helping to get President Donald Trump re-elected.

An ardent Republican, Rogers has been on the forefront of the MAGA effort in New Jersey for years. He is a member of the president's 2020 Campaign Advisory Board, and is one of the driving forces behind the America Winning Coalition, which is trying to rally Garden State voters to reelect Trump.
