NJ Man Tells Cops He Killed His Mother-In-Law: Authorities
A man called 911 and told police he killed his mother-in-law. Nutley officers found an 84-year-old victim on the floor, prosecutors said.
NUTLEY, NJ — A New Jersey man has been accused of killing an elderly woman he lived with in Nutley, authorities said.
Nutley police got a 911 call from a man at 8:21 p.m. on Tuesday, who said he had just killed his mother-in-law. When officers arrived at the Prospect Street home, they found Barbara Ann Bezzone, 84, lying on the floor. She was "unresponsive" and had severe injuries, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor's Office and the Nutley Police Department.
Bezzone was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:45 p.m.

Nutley police arrested James Pica, 58, and charged him with murder.
A spokesperson for the prosecutor's office told Patch that Pica lived with Bezzone, but couldn't confirm who owned the home.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force and the Nutley Police Department are investigating Bezzone's death. Authorities said that anyone with information can contact the Essex County Prosecutor's Office tips line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
