Man Chucks Item Off Overpass, Damages Police Car: Nutley PD

NUTLEY, NJ — A man recently threw an object off an overpass and damaged a police car, authorities said Friday.

The Nutley Police Department released the following statement about the incident, which took place on Park Avenue on Thursday:

“A party known to police threw an object from the Park Avenue overpass, striking a police car with debris [and] causing damage. The officer attempted to arrest the subject, [who] fled along the railroad tracks.”

Nutley police said that once he is found, authorities plan to charge the man with aggravated assault on an officer, possession of a weapon and resisting arrest. No additional information was immediately available.
