Nutley Business Says Man Used Fake $100 Bills To Buy Money Gram
Nutley police are seeking a man who allegedly paid for a $700 Money Gram with counterfeit $100 bills.

Nutley, NJ – Nutley police are seeking a man suspected of passing off fake $100 bills at a Harrison Street store last week.
According to the Nutley Police Department, store personnel reported that on March 1, a male patron made a Money Gram payment for $700 – not including tax – and allegedly paid with eight, $100 bills.
Store personnel allegedly checked the bills with a dri mark pen, then gave the customer $87.50 in change, police said.

After the customer left, store personnel checked the bills again and discovered that they were counterfeit, police stated.
In addition, the sender’s address provided came back as an invalid street location, police said.

The suspect was described as a black male, medium build, wearing a black cap, dark pants, white sneakers, and a gray and black Adidas sweatshirt, according to police. [See above photo]
