Nutley Car Owners Beware: Thief Strikes 12 Vehicles In 1 Night
There's one simple thing that you can do to reduce your chances of being a theft victim, Nutley police say.

Nutley, NJ – A car burglar broke into more than a dozen vehicles in one night earlier this week, Nutley police reported.
“The Nutley Police department has seen increased reports of thefts from parked vehicles in the past several days,” the NPD stated on a Wednesday social media post. “While The Nutley Police Department is taking every measure to investigate current thefts and prevent future thefts, we are asking for the residents help.”
More than a dozen car owners were victimized from Monday night to Tuesday morning, NJ.com stated, including vehicles on Oakridge, Enclosure, Nutley Avenue, Whitford, Colonial, Evelyn and Park Avenue.

Many of the cars were unlocked, police said.
“First and probably most important, please lock your car doors,” Nutley police stated. “Most, if not all of the thefts are due to people leaving their car doors unlocked. Secondly, report suspicious persons and activity to the police department. It only takes a minute to call and we take every one of these calls very seriously.”
