Nutley Library Thrown To The Wolves (And People Love It)

A pair of "wolfdogs" prowled their way into the Nutley Library courtesy of a NJ animal rescue. Listen to a smile-inducing howl/yawn here.

NUTLEY, NJ — Their “wolf” heritage tends to be shy with strangers, but also intelligent, stubborn and playful. Their “dog” half will tend to reflect whatever breed of canine they hail from. But one thing is certain: no two wolfdogs are exactly alike.

That’s just one of the fascinating pieces of information that patrons and staff at the Nutley Public Library learned during a visit from animal shelter/rescue Howling Woods Farm and two of its “wolfdogs” this week. (Learn more about the wolfdog here)

Two of the charismatic animals - Samson and Kotori – made the trek from Jackson to Nutley on Thursday, giving local nature lovers a chance to experience the unique mystique of the wolfdog up close and personal. During the free event, participants also got a chance to learn about wolves, wolf dogs, and their myths and legends courtesy of Howling Woods Farm.
