Nutley police have identified suspects in a home burglary, and a string of vehicle burglaries.
NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley police have identified a suspect in a home burglary that took place earlier this month, authorities announced Wednesday.
Police previously reported that a Stewart Avenue resident’s back door was “kicked in” during a March 3 burglary. The owner of the home said more than $10,000 in jewelry was missing.
Nutley detectives later identified the alleged burglar as Michael Hart, 54, of East Orange. A warranted has been issued for his arrest; he remains at large, authorities said.

Several vehicles were burglarized during the early morning hours on March 24 at North Road, Oak Street, Walnut Street and May Place, authorities said.
Police said they have since obtained evidence that links Elijah Augustin, 27, a New York resident, to five car burglaries and “multiple counts of theft and attempted theft.”
According to police, it was raining at the time of the thefts, and Augustin was captured on surveillance video holding a stolen umbrella he took from one of the cars.
Nutley Police Director Alphonse Petracco commended the “outstanding work” of the involved officers and the residents who provided the surveillance video. He added that people should continue to lock their vehicles to help prevent future thefts.
