Nutley Resident Loses Cash During Diversionary Burglary: Police
A pair of men allegedly rang the Nutley resident's doorbell and offered to repair the sidewalk, police said.

NUTLEY, NJ — A Nutley resident became the victim of a diversionary burglary on Monday when a pair of men rang their bell and offered to repair their sidewalk, authorities said.
According to the Nutley Police Department, the burglary took place around 3 p.m. on Grant Avenue when the victim let one of the men enter the home. While that person distracted the victim, his accomplice allegedly entered the home and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the victim’s handbag.
Both men got into a “bright red pickup truck” and fled west on Grant Avenue after the alleged burglary, police said.

The first man to enter the home was described as a Hispanic male about 20-years-old. The second man was described as a Hispanic male with short-cropped hair with some gray, police said.
