• 2 New Businesses Open In Belleville: Fitness Studio, Café (patch.com) — Belleville residents have two new local spots to check out, with Aura Pilates Studio opening on Washington Avenue for Pilates, yoga, and fitness workshops, and DB Café debuting on Union Avenue with coffee, pastries, and fresh breakfast and lunch. Mayor Frank Vélez joined both ribbon cuttings, underscoring the town's support for small businesses and new neighborhood gathering places.
   

• Essex County Daily Buzz: Sep. 21, 2026 (jerseybee.org) — Belleville families can head to the public library on Sept. 26 for a bilingual Hispanic Heritage Month storytime with author Daniela Palacios, offered first come, first served. Around Essex County, there's a packed calendar of nearby events, from Nutley's rescheduled classic car show to Newark festivals, Maplewood history programs, and Montclair arts and wellness activities, many of them free or low-cost.
   

• Zentai Martial Arts marks 10th anniversary (theobserver.com) — Zentai Martial Arts, which now includes a school in Belleville, is celebrating its 10th anniversary and the promotion of its largest-ever class of 27 new black belts. Founders Allen and Naomy DePeña highlight their focus on leadership, character, and accessibility through their nonprofit Heart of Zentai, which offers free programs to children, including at an international school in the Dominican Republic.
