UPDATED RESULTS: 'No' To Nutley School Funding, Belleville BOE
Nutley residents narrowly shot down a large school construction project. Belleville voters chose Board of Education members.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Belleville and Nutley residents hit the voting booths on Tuesday, Nov. 6 to make their voices heard in the 2018 General Election. Polls were open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
In Belleville, voters chose Board of Education members. In Nutley, residents picked Board of Education members and voted on a school construction bond referendum. Check back here for election results as they're reported.
BELLEVILLE BOARD OF EDUCATION (2 seats, 3-year term)

With 24 of 26 districts reporting, it's likely that Nelson Barrera and Christine Lamparello have captured the two available seats on the Belleville Board of Education.

- Nelson Barrera - 3588 (40.93%)
- Christine Lamparello - 3368 (38.42%)
- Olga Setteducato - 1769 (20.18%)
BELLEVILLE BOARD OF EDUCATION (1 seat, 1-year unexpired term)
With 24 of 26 districts reporting, an unopposed Gynise M. Gotto has likely won the 1-year unexpired term on the Belleville Board of Education.
Here are the unofficial results, according to the Essex County Clerk's Office:
- Gynise M. Gotto - 2194 (99.32%)
- Write-In - 21 (0.82%)
NUTLEY BOARD OF EDUCATION (3 seats, 3-year term)
With 20 of 20 districts reporting, Kenneth J. Reilly, Erica Zarro and Theresa Teri Quirk emerged victorious in the Nutley Board of Education race, according to the Essex County Clerk's Office.
- Kenneth J. Reilly - 4495 (19.96%)
- Erica Zarro - 3970 (17.63%)
- Theresa Teri Quirk - 3745 (16.63%)
- Deborah J. Russo -3690 (16.39%)
- Salvatore Balsamo -3463 (15.38%)
- Ryan Kline -3094 (13.74%)
NUTLEY SCHOOL REFERENDUM
Nutley residents voted on a two-part, multi-million school referendum aimed at alleviating overcrowding in the district's public schools.

Split into two ballot questions, the first part would have funded a $56.82 million series of improvements at Nutley High School, John H. Walker Middle School, Washington Elementary School and Yantacaw Elementary School. The second ballot question would have funded $10.15 million of improvements at Nutley High, Washington and Yantacaw.
