Repairs Continue At Nutley Library After Major Water Damage Closes Building
Repairs continue after a large leak caused extensive damage at the Nutley Public Library – here's the latest estimated reopening date.

NUTLEY, NJ — There’s a chance that the Nutley Public Library will stay closed until May while repairs from a major water leak continue, administrators say.
On Monday, library staff gave an update on the remediation efforts, which began in February after a large leak caused extensive damage in the building.
“The contractors overseeing the water damage repairs estimate that the library may remain closed to the public until early May,” administrators reported.

“Thank you for your patience as we work towards welcoming you back,” staff added.
While the library’s doors remain closed, it is still offering several services for Nutley residents. They include:

- “Physical items can be picked up at any of the other 78 libraries in the BCCLS system - just select a convenient location when placing your request.”
- “Our outdoor drop box will remain open for returns, and items can also be returned at any BCCLS library.”
- “Our digital collections are still available. A password (PIN) is required for access, so make sure one is set on your library account.”
While many programs have transitioned to a virtual format, some events – such as the Friends Book Sale – will still be held on-site as scheduled.
