St. Patrick's Day Parade Returning To Nutley For 2024

A popular St. Patrick's Day parade is returning to Nutley. Here's where the parade will kick off and end.

NUTLEY, NJ — A popular St. Patrick's Day parade is returning to Nutley for 2024.

The 45th Nutley St. Patrick's Day Parade will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 2.

The parade will start at Harrison Avenue and Evergreen Street, then head north up Franklin Avenue. It will end on Chestnut Street, with the review stand in front of John Walker Middle School. Learn more here.

Hosted by the Nutley Irish American Association, this year's parade will include the following dignitaries: Retired Nutley Detective Captain Robert Irwin (Grand Marshal); former Nutley Board of Education Special Education paraprofessional Maureen Callaghan (Deputy Grand Marshal); Essex County Division of Family Benefits and Assistance’s Barbara O'Halloran (Member of the Year); Rolling Stone Director of Video Production Tara Catherine Reid (Parade Queen); and Nutley Lieutenant Gabriel Miller (Firefighter of the Year).

“The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is really the township's kickoff event of the year,” Nutley Mayor Joseph Scarpelli said.

“I’m pretty certain I’ve been to almost all 45 of them, so as a parade veteran, I can safely say that everyone who comes out will have a fantastic time,” Scarpelli added.

St. Patrick's Day takes place on Sunday, March 17 this year.
