Woman Bought More Than $15,000 In Gift Cards Using Forged Credit Cards: Report

Kelley Gholston, 26, allegedly used fraudulent credit cards with stolen numbers, police said.

Nutley police arrested a Bronx woman after investigating the fact that she purchased more than $15,000 worth of gift cards using fraudulent credit cards within the past few months, authorities said.

Kelly Gholston, 26, was charged with forgery, fraudulent use of credit cards, theft, and possession of multiple fraudulent credit cards, NorthJersey.com reported.

Gholston allegedly had 10 credit cards on her when police found her at a convenience store. The store owner reported a woman had visited the business on several occasions and purchased gift cards at more than $500 a piece, police said.

Gholston allegedly told detectives that the account numbers on the cards were from various victims’ credit cards and that she replicated them onto laminated cards with her name on them, the report states.

The investigation is continuing, and other stores and victims could be involved, police said.
