Young Belleville Native Signing Copies of Her Book Jan. 24

A young Belleville native is signing copies of her book, “Diary of a Life Less Sweet,” Thursday, Jan. 24 from 4 to 6 pm at Barnes and Noble, 395 Rt 3 East, Clifton.

Crystal Rivera was seven when her younger brother was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. When she was 12, Rivera published “Diary,” a fictionalized account of what life is like in a household where someone is living with Type 1 diabetes.

Support materials at the back of the book provide information for parents, caregivers, and educators. A template for starting your own diary or journal is also provided. Part of the proceeds from sales of this book will go to support diabetes research.
