Annual Chatsworth Cranberry Festival on Tap for This Weekend

Event is a celebration of Pinelands history and the New Jersey cranberry harvest

The little town known as "The Capital of the Pines" hosts the  28th annual Chatsworth Cranberry Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and tomorrow, under crisp October skies.

The festival is a celebration of New Jersey's cranberry harvest - the third largest in the nation - and Pine Barrens history and culture.

The event will feature more than 160 arts and craft vendors, antique dealers, food and baked goods. The band Bullzeye will play from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Chatsworth Volunteer Fire Company wil Breakfast The White Horse Cafe will dishing up breakfast from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. each day at the firehouse. Visitors can by jams, jellies, breads, baked goods and even cranberry ice cream at the White Horse Cafe.

An antique and classic car show featuring over 100 automobiles will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The two-day festival is organized and sponsored by the Festival Committee of Chatsworth as a fundraiser for the restoration and preservation of the White Horse Inn.

Admission to the festival is free. A $5 donation will be accepted if visitors use the "highly recommended' parking area at the school off Second Street, according to the committee's website at www.cranfest.org.
