Art Contests, Scholarships Available Through VFW For Berkeley Kids

BERKELEY, NJ — Several opportunities for contests and scholarships are available to Berkeley students through the Bayville VFW Auxiliary Post 9503.

First, the "Illustrating America" art contest is available to any Berkeley Township or Central Regional Middle School student between kindergarten and eighth grade. This contest goes to the national level, where Bayville previously had a student win third place in the kindergarten through second grade category. The "Young America Creative Patriotic Art Contest" offers scholarships for Central Regional high schoolers. It also goes through various levels, and Bayville has had an entry that won local and district awards.

The VFW 9503 Post is also offering two of their own scholarship opportunities.

Patriots Pen scholarship is due no later than Oct. 31, 2022 to the VFW 9503 post. It is available to students from sixth to eighth grade.

Voice of Democracy is also due no later than Oct. 31, 2022 to the VFW 9503 post. It is available to all high school students.
