Bayville Man Facing Drugs, Weapons Charges After Motor Vehicle Stop
Nicholas Amico, 21, Chelsea Avenue, had two spring-loaded knives in his possession, Berkeley police chief said.

Berkeley police arrested a Chelsea Avenue man on drug and weapons charges after they stopped his vehicle at the intersection of Browning Avenue and Scott Drive recently, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.
Patrolman Shawn Bowens conducted a motor vehicle stop at 8:19 p.m. on Jan. 6. He detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from Nicholas Amico’s vehicle, the chief said.
Patrolmen Ed Hendrickson and Patrick Stesner, and Sgt. William Cullen arrived on the scene to assist. Further investigation found that Amico, 21, had two pellet handguns, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, two spring-loaded knives, and a canister of pepper spray, DiMichele said.

Amico was taken to police headquarters, where he was processed and released on a summons for unlawful possession of a weapon, the chief said.
