Bayville Man Injured In Fatal Route 70 Crash: Report

Richard J. Lissenden of Manchester was killed Monday night, according to the report; the name of the injured Bayville man was not released.

PEMBERTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Manchester Township man was killed in a two-car crash on Route 70 Monday evening, according to a report.

NJ.com reported Richard J. Lissenden, 87, of the Whiting section, was killed when he pulled out in front of a van while trying to turn onto Route 70 east from Lakehurst Road in Pemberton, quoting Pemberton police. Lissenden was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver of the van, a 49-year-old man from Bayville, was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, the report said. The van was westbound at the time of the crash, which happened shortly after 8 p.m. and resulted in the closure of Route 70 in the area for several hours.
