Bayville Man Runs Stop Sign, Found With Controlled Dangerous Substance

Motor vehicle stop took place on Route 9 near Quick Check.

Berkeley Township police recently arrested a Bayville man and charged him with possession of a controlled dangerous substance after he ran a stop sign on Route 9, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Patrolman Scott Rudolph stopped Anthony Trenchi, 19, Pheasant Drive, after he failed to stop at the stop sign. Further investigation revealed that Trenchi was in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, the chief said.

Trenche was taken to police headquarters, where police also learned he had a $750 South Toms River outstanding warrant. He was also issued multiple motor vehicle summonses, DiMichele said.

Municipal Court Judge Gluck was notified and set Trenchi’s bail at $750, making the total bail $1,500. He was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in lieu of bail, the chief said.
