Bayville Native Nets Prestigious Communications Scholarship Award

NEW YORK — Central Regional alumna Kayla Jennings-Rivera earned a prestigious scholarship award from New York Women In Communications. The New York University graduate is among 14 recipients.

Jennings-Rivera will be honored May 6 at the annual Matrix Awards, which more than 1,000 people from the communications industry are expected to attend. She's a first-year Masters' Candidate at Rutgers University, earning one of their prestigious academic scholarships in 2019.

MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski will emcee the event and feature the award honorees. NYWICI awards scholarships to high school seniors, undergraduates and graduate students pursuing or furthering careers in communications. The organization provides scholarships to students of academic excellence, need and a demonstrated commitment to the field of communications.

Since 2000, NYWICI has issued more than $1.7 million in scholarship support.
