Berkeley Detectives Break Up Heroin Distribution Operation After Tips From Residents
Two arrested and charged with possession and distribution of heroin.

It pays to send anonymous tips to the Berkeley Township Police Department.
Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele credited residents who reported suspicious activity at 36 Belmont Street in Bayville with launching the investigation that led to the arrest of a man and woman who lived at the home on heroin charges.

Berkeley detectives - with the help of the Ocean County Regional S.W.A.T. Team and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department K-9 - executed a search warrant at the home on Sept. 22.
They arrested the homeowner, George Albuquerque, 63, and Amanda Dirschaur, 21, same address, and charged them both with possession of heroin and distribution of heroin. They seized drugs, packaging material and a large amount of cash from the home, DiMichele said.

More charges are expected due to the location of the home next to the Al Leiter field at the Berkeley Little League complex, the chief said.
