Berkeley Library Collecting Prom Dresses For Free Giveaway
Ocean County Libraries will collect prom dresses and tuxedos until the giveaway begins.
BERKELEY, NJ — Many kids are already thinking about prom. The Ocean County Library's Prom Dress Giveaway can give them one less thing to worry about.
All 21 branches, including the Berkeley branch (30 Station Rd.), began collecting donations. Libraries will accept new or gently used prom dresses or tuxedos.
The libraries will accept donations until March 13.

Here are the guidelines, according to the Ocean County Library:
- They only need short and long styles purchased within the last five years.
- Ideally donate dry cleaned dresses ready for attending prom.
- All dresses must be clean and in good condition — no rips, tears or stains.
- No accessories, shoes, purses and bridesmaids dresses please.
The free giveaway will run from March 24 to April 15. Registration is not required. The program is designed for students from eighth to 12th grade.

The giveaway will take place at the Toms River, Little Egg Harbor, Barnegat and Lakewood branches.
