Berkeley Police Arrest Two Bayville Women On Drug Charges

Police investigated a suspicious vehicle parked on South Princeton Avenue, police chief said.

Berkeley police recently charged two Bayville women with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after they investigated a suspicious vehicle on South Princeton Avenue, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Patrolman Edward Hendrickson spotted the vehicle at 11:05 p.m. on Jan. 15. When he approached the vehicle he detected a strong odor of marijuana and spotted drug paraphernalia in the car. The driver agreed to a voluntary search of the vehicle, the chief said.

Further investigation led to the arrest of Jessica Raynis, 21, and Alexis Massimi, 20. Detective Michael O’Connor assisted with the investigation. Police recovered the marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both women were arrested and taken to police headquarters, where they were processed and released, pending a court date, DiMichele said.
