Berkeley Schools Monitoring U.S. Coronavirus Warnings
The Berkeley Township School District enhanced daily cleaning and sanitizing of all schools and buses.
BERKELEY, NJ — The Berkeley Township School District is monitoring information about the coronavirus. The district enhanced daily cleaning and sanitizing at all schools and buses, using disinfectant at high-touch surfaces.
Superintendent James D. Roselli sent a letter to parents Friday about preventing the spread of the flu, coronavirus and other viruses.
The district will continue to monitor info from the Center for Disease Control about cases of the coronavirus in the United States. If you child has traveled to a part of the world highly impacted by the virus in the last two weeks, contact their principal or school nurse before sending him or her back to school.

Here the the recommendations for preventing the spread of viruses:
- wash hands often, with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds, especially after coughing or sneezing
- cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or into your sleeve, not your hands
- avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
- keep your children home when they're sick. Children shouldn't return to school unless they've been fever-free without medication for 24 hours.
- avoid people who are sick
- get a flu shot
- clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects
- encourage a "do not shore" rule this season for food, drinks, lip balm, pencils, etc.
