Berkeley Summer Camp Registration Opens: How It Will Work

Summer is on, but Berkeley Recreation's camp will be different this year because of coronavirus regulations.

BERKELEY, NJ — Berkeley Recreation opened registration for its summer camp. But camp will look a little different this year because of state coronavirus regulations.

Because of camp-size limitations, Berkeley limited this year's program to first through sixth grade. Camp will run from July 6 to Aug. 14, Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. After- and before-care programs are available beginning at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m. each day of camp.

Camp will get divided into four locations because of social distancing. Campers will rotate between:

  • the Recreation Center at 630 Atlantic City Blvd.
  • the nature study building at 500 Western Blvd.
  • Central Regional Middle School
  • Veterans Park

They hope to finish the final two weeks of camp with all children at Veterans Park.

There won't be any trips, but Berkeley Recreation will add several activities, including exercise, drama, sign language and outdoor sports.

Campers must bring masks. They won't have to wear them at all times, but they will use them in appropriate situations. The camp will also conduct daily temperature checks on staff and campers.

Costs

  • first child: $215
  • each additional child in household: $200
  • before-care for six weeks: $200
  • after-care for six weeks: $300
  • both before-care and after-care: $450
