Central Regional Awards Teachers Of The Year

One teacher from both the middle school and the high school were honored as the Teacher of the Year.

BERKELEY, NJ — Central Regional has honored two teachers with the Teacher of the Year Award.

Awards were given to a middle school teacher and a high school teacher. The awards were presented at a recent Board of Education meeting.

The middle school teacher selected was Kristine Golda. She is a guidance counselor, Superintendent Tom Parlapanides said. He called her "dynamic" and emphasized that she was very helpful. Golda "takes care of everyone," Parlapanides said.

The other winner was Ashley Mazzuca, an English teacher at the high school. She was a former student of Parlapanides when he was a science teacher, and he said he had always thought she would make a great teacher. Parlapanides added that Mazzuca "does everything."

Both Golda and Mazzuca were presented with trophies and will be honored at a breakfast later.
