Central Regional Students Raise Thousands At Polar Plunge

The students raised $3,700 for the Special Olympics on Saturday in Seaside Heights.

Nearly 7,500 people raised $2 million for Special Olympics New Jersey athletes Saturday at the NJ Polar Plunge in Seaside Heights. Central Regional students were part of the effort.

Central Regional's National Honor Society's Freezin' Eagles raised $3,700 for the cause, which exceeded their goal by $1,700.

"They did a fantastic job to benefit a fabulous cause that students in their own school community participate in," Central Regional Family wrote on Facebook.

Central Regional's Special Olympics Winter Games athletes and Unified Partners earned nine gold and five silver medals at the New Jersey Special Olympic Winter Games earlier this month.
