Chiara Maalouf Awarded Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Scholarship
Bayville student receives scholarship

BAYVILLE, N.J. – (July 27, 2016) – Chiara Maalouf, a Bayville resident and 2016 graduate of Donovan Catholic in Toms River, has been awarded the 2016 Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Scholarship. Maalouf was selected based on her academic history and potential, an essay and recommendations. She will receive a total of $4,000 toward her education.
Maalouf plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in mathematics or environmental science at Loyola University Maryland. During her high school career, Maalouf excelled as a Veritas Scholar, identified after her freshman year as a student with the highest academic skills and abilities. She pursued the most challenging curriculum, with potential to attend the most competitive colleges and universities.
“Chiara has not only met those early perceptions and expectations, but has far exceeded them,” said Donvan Catholic Guidance Director William Vanore in a recommendation letter. “She is an impressive and inspiring young woman with an extremely positive attitude and infectious smile.” This is in spite of adversities faced by Maalouf and her family, such as losing their home in Hurricane Sandy.
