Christie Rampone Named To New Jersey Hall Of Fame
Induction ceremony takes place in October in Convention Hall in Asbury Park.

Point Pleasant native and world-class soccer star Christie Rampone will be inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame in October, according to app.com.
The former Monmouth University standout and captain of the United States Women’s National Team will be honored with 12 other well-known state residents at Convention Hall in Asbury Park.
Rampone, 39, the national team’s captain, made her mark as a three-sport athlete at Point Pleasant Boro High School. She starred in basketball, scoring more than 2,000 points in her career, and her senior year was the leading scorer in the Shore Conference in basketball, field hockey and soccer, according to Patch.com.

Recruited primarily for her basketball skills, Rampone starred as a rare college two-sport athlete at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, where she scored 79 career goals as a striker for the Hawks and was the baketball team’s starting point guard.
