BERKELEY, NJ — After an eight-day closure, Double Trouble State Park has reopened.

The park reopened as of 12 p.m. on Sept. 6, state park officials said. There have been no signs of the "potentially rabid fox" that had attacked two people and a dog on Aug. 29, officials said.

The fox is likely dead now, according to officials.

Another juvenile fox found near the entrance of the park previously tested positive for rabies, but is not believed to be the same one from the Monday incident, the Department of Environmental Protection said.

Use caution if you see animals behaving strangely, as rabid animals will display bizarre, sometimes aggressive behavior with neurologic signs, including circling, wobbly gait, strange vocalizations and seizures, officials said.
