Friday Bayville Brush Fire Due To Stuck Vehicle: Police
A fire in Bayville on Friday was caused by a stuck commercial van, police said.

BERKELEY, NJ — Friday's brush fire in Bayville was caused by a commercial van that got stuck in the mud, Berkeley Township police said.
Police arrived to the fire on the 900 Block of Main Street in the Holly Park section of town and found a commercial van engulfed in flames. The flames had spread to the reeds in the marsh, police said. No one was hurt, and the only damaged property was the van, according to police. About one and a half acres were burned.
An investigation showed that the fire was accidental. The van, trying to turn around, got stuck in the mud, police said. Heat from the engine likely ignited the reeds, police said.
