Herbert I. Wright Jr., Local Business Owner, World War II Veteran Dies At 89
Services for Wright, who served his Bayville and his country, will be held on Saturday and Sunday.

Herbert I. Wright, Jr., 89, of Bayville, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, with his loving family at his side.
He was born in Lakewood and lived most of his life in Bayville. Mr. Wright was self-employed in the family business, founded in 1919, H.I.Wright & Sons HAC, in Bayville.
Mr. Wright proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Herbert was active in the community as member of the First Aid Squad and Fire Department, both of Bayville. Also, he was a lifetime member of the VFW Berkeley Township Post 9503, the Berkeley Township Historical Society, American Legion Barnegat Post 232 and the Albert Music Hall in Lacey Township.

Mr. Wright also served from 1990 to 1994 as Commissioner and Executive Director of the Berkeley Township Sewerage Authority. Dad loved Barnegat Bay and would always be fishing off one of his boats. He loved his family and will be dearly missed. Herb is predeceased by his beloved wife Esther and by his son, Herbert III.
Surviving are his children; Janis Broadwater, Patricia Zuccaro and husband Steven, Laurie Villano and husband Ralph and Herbert IV and fiancé Nora Bryne; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; his brother Billy and wife Julie and his sister-in-law Lorraine Jones
Visiting hours will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Route 9 in Bayville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Friends and family may arrive at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Herb’s memory to; Bayville First Aid Squad, 660 Route 9, Bayville, NJ 08721, would be appreciated.
