Here's What Berkeley's Barnegat Bay Project Would Look Like
Berkeley Township submitted an application for DEP funding on a waterfront park and boat ramp on the Main Street beach.

BERKELEY, N.J. — Patch reported Thursday that Berkeley officials applied for state Green Acres funding to create a waterfront park and boat ramp along Barnegat Bay. Mayor Carmen F. Amato provided a rendering of what the Main Street project would look like.
"The majority of the construction cost will be to remove the old rotted bulk heading and to install new bulk heading." Amato said.
Superstorm Sandy destroyed the building and bulk heading. You can see the damage on this Google Earth image below:

"We have a boat ramp directly on the Toms River at the end off Mill Creek Road," Amato said. "This would provide the public another way to access Barnegat Bay while developing a nice passive recreation area with a great scenic view."
