LBI Beach Patrol Warns Of Rough Surf, Rip Currents, Powerful Waves
Patrol kept guards on until 8 p.m on Sunday, moderate rip current risk forecast for Monday.

Strong rip currents and dangerous ocean conditions led to a warning from the Harvey Cedars Beach Patrol urging visitors to stay out of the water after lifeguards went off duty at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
“Due to dangerous conditions in the ocean, including strong rips, changing tides, and powerful waves, we are urging beach patrons to stay out of the water once lifeguards leave at 5 p.m.,” according to the Beach Patrol’s Facebook page. “We will have an after hours unit on an ATV patrolling the beach until 8 p.m. and in the event of an emergency, always dial 911.”
The National Weather Service is calling for moderate rip current risks in Ocean County on Monday, with surf of three to four feet high and a water temperature of around 66 degrees.
