Man Rescued After Jumping Into Freezing Waters In Bayville

Seaside Heights police quickly responded to save a man who had jumped into the freezing waters of the Toms River.

BERKELEY, NJ — The Seaside Heights Marine Unit jumped into action to quickly rescue a man who had jumped into the freezing waters of the Toms River, police said.

The man, who police say was suffering from a mental episode, was quickly pulled out of the water on April 14, Seaside Heights police said.

Ptl. Eddie Pasieka and Tim Farrell were able to locate him in the channel and pull him aboard the marine unit, police said.

He was then taken to Berkeley EMTs who were waiting ashore, police said.

"Due to Ptl Pasieka's quick response it was another great save for the Seaside Heights Marine Unit," police said. "Thank you Officer Pasieka and Tim Farrell for a job well done."
