BERKELEY, NJ — A man accused of mugging an 87-year-old woman with a golf club in Berkeley has been found, police said. David Steen was captured Monday morning without incident when state police pulled him over in Burlington County, Berkeley police announced Monday.

Berkeley police identified the Marlton man and issued a warrant for his arrest, authorities announced Friday. Police distributed a composite sketch of the suspect after the Sept. 23 incident. Read more: Warrant Out For Man Who Mugged Elderly Woman In Berkeley: PD

Authorities found Steen on Route 72 at mile marker 19.5 at about 9:40 a.m. Monday. Police pulled him over for a motor-vehicle violation unrelated to the warrant. He was taken to the Ocean County Jail.

The victim was hitting golf balls at the Miller Air Park fairgrounds. Then the man started a conversation with her, hit her in the head with a golf club and stole her belongings, police said.

Steen was charged with robbery (first-degree), aggravated assault (third-degree), possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose (third-degree) and unlawful weapon possession (fourth-degree), police said.
