Men Who Stole HVACs, ACs In Berkeley Had Heroin, Guns: PD
Two Brick men stole the units from heating and cooling businesses along Route 9, police said.
BERKELEY, NJ — Two men were charged with stealing HVAC and air conditioners from heating and cooling businesses along Route 9, Berkeley police said Friday. Authorities said they also found heroin and illegal handguns in their home.
Robert Camp and William Camp were each charged with two counts of unlawful taking and two counts of criminal trespass, police said. William Camp, 52, was also charged with possessing a hypodermic needle, police said. Additional charges are pending as officials process evidence.
Berkeley and Lacey police investigated several incidents of stolen HVAC and AC units this month. Thefts included condenser units and other industrial equipment left outside the businesses. Police did not reveal which businesses were affected.

Surveillance footage revealed the suspects in a later model Dodge Pickup committing thefts, police said. The truck had unique markings. Authorities executed a search warrant on the suspects' home on Linden Avenue in Brick, police said.
Police said they found evidence of the thefts along with several illegal handguns and a small amount of heroin. Robert Camp, 52, was taken to Ocean County Jail. William Camp, 32, was released on a summons.
