New Beachwood Mall Ideas To Go Before Berkeley Planning Board
Approvals are being sought for fast food restaurants, retail spaces and a supermarket among others to fill the old Beachwood Mall.

BERKELEY, NJ — Revitalization plans for the vacant Beachwood Mall site in Berkeley are moving forward, as the developers are seeking planning board approvals for a variety of shops to fill the space.
Berkeley Shopping Center Renewal, LLC is the applicant seeking approvals for the 40.28 acre site that is the Town Center Redevelopment Area, better known as the Beachwood Mall.

According to public notice, the following approvals are sought for the site:
- Three fast food restaurants with drive-throughs (two are 2,340 square feet and one is 3,550 square feet)
- A 135,000 square foot retail space in a mixed-use building
- A 44,124 square foot retail space in a mixed-use building
- A 83,000 square foot supermarket
- A 14,400 square foot building consisting of 7,200 square feet of retail space and a separate 7,200 square foot restaurant
- And a 4,500 square foot car wash.
A public hearing on this application is set for the Sept. 21 Berkeley Township Planning Board meeting. The board meets at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building (627 Pinewald Keswick Road).
