BERKELEY, NJ — We can all agree that the Jersey Shore is home to some of the best food there is.

Of course, there's fresh seafood, but there's so many other kinds of food to try around the area.

Several new restaurants opened up around Berkeley in 2022, and more are coming in 2023. Here are some that you have to check out.

Rosie's

After opening this summer, this Ocean Gate spot has already become popular in the area for those looking for an elevated dining experience without having to go too far. Serving a blend of seafood and American fare, this is a can't-miss if you want to enjoy a romantic date night or special occasion. Plus, their drink menu features classics and delicious seasonal options.

Carmen's Cocina

We're eagerly anticipating this Puerto Rican restaurant, which says on its website that it won't be opening until 2023. No official opening date or any menu has been posted, but the Beachwood spot promises authentic Puerto Rican cuisine - something that Ocean County could definitely use.

Turning Point

This brunch chain has several locations in New Jersey, but its newest in Toms River on Route 37 makes it easy for Berkeley residents to dine there. With everything from egg options to the most extravagant pancake dishes you can think of, Turning Point has something for the whole family. They serve lunch, too, in case you're somehow not a breakfast fan.

Cucina Fresca

Bayville's newest business is this Italian market that's taken the community by storm. Apart from selling specialty grocery items, Cucina Fresca also offers fresh sandwiches, soups and salads. The best part, according to customers, is the bread - it's freshly baked and offers customers a taste of North Jersey without having to travel.
