New Charges For Ocean Co. Teacher Accused Of Sexual Contact With Student

JACKSON, NJ — The Jackson teacher accused of having "inappropriate sexual contact" with a student on high school property faces additional charges, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.

Andrew Fantasia, a teacher at Carl W. Goetz Middle school and a club advisor at Jackson Memorial High School, was previously charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact, endangering the welfare of a child and official misconduct. Now, the 27-year-old Beachwood resident and Central Regional graduate has also been charged with possession of child pornography and an additional endangering the welfare of a child charge, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

The sexual contact spanned from February 2023 to June 2023 while Fantasia was employed by the school district, authorities said. He had also requested nude photos from the student, authorities said.

Detectives executed a court-authorized search warrant on Fantasia's home on Oct. 25, where they seized multiple electronic devices in his possession, authorities said. Fantasia was taken to Ocean County Jail, where he remains pending a detention hearing.

Authorities conducted a full forensic analysis of Fantasia's devices, which revealed nude photos of the student on his cell phone, Bilhimer said. He was served with the additional charges on Nov. 1 via a warrant at the Ocean County Jail.
