BERKELEY, NJ — Berkeley residents might see smoke throughout Friday. Don't be alarmed.

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service will conduct controlled burns throughout the day. Officials will put them around Pinewald Keswick Road and Washington Avenue.

Controlled burning is conducted during cooler months. It reduces fuel buildup and decreases the likelihood of more serious, hotter fires.
