BERKELEY, NJ — Police responded to Central Regional High School this morning for a false alarm, Berkeley police said.

The high school's panic alarm was triggered which automatically dispatched police, school officials said.

Police said that "it was quickly determined to be a false alarm."

It was likely caused by electrical issues from last night's storm, both police and school officials said.

School officials said there is no threat to the district and maintenance is working on the problem.

"The Berkeley Township Police continue, as always, to maintain a presence at all our schools," police said.
